Tanzania and Zanzibar Travel Blog
I am a Tanzianian with a deep love for my country and a passion for world travel,
which motivated me to create this travel blog focusing on Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Why Visit Tanzania?
Tanzania is a premier safari destination. A full quarter of its land has been aside for conservation. These lands include the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, the vast wildlife sanctuary of the Selous Game Reserve, which is home to an estimated 20% of Africa‘s large mammals, and the unforgettable Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the “big bowl” where the five big African mammals roam freely within the crater. These and other sites offer a unique safari experience that only Tanzania can provide.
But Tanzania offers more than safaris. There is Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the continent. Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Nyssa are the largest freshwater lakes in Africa. Finally, there is, of course, the magical “spice island” of Zanzibar, the jewel of the Indian Ocean with its postcard-perfect beaches, stunning offshore diving sites and mysterious medieval ruins.
Tanzania‘s breath-taking natural wonders and stunning wildlife is surpassed only by its people, who take pride in their national values of peace and tolerance. It is no wonder that Tanzania has emerged in the last thirty years as one of Africa‘s most popular travel destination. Its stunning natural beauty is beautifully complemented by the hospitality of its people.
How can you describe the Tanzanian experience? It is captured by the smiling, heartfelt, Swahili greeting that you will hear dozens of times a day no matter where you roam in Tanzania and Zanzibar, “Karibu” (“welcome”).
